Washington Crossing Council will offer University of Scouting at Bucks County Community College on March 7

University of Scouting is one of the premier training events for adult leaders. It's an opportunity to learn about many diverse subjects to help you do your Scouting job better.

Assistant Scoutmaster Training

Washington Crossing Council is offering the two training courses required by Assistant Scoutmasters to wear the "Trained" emblem.

Scoutmaster Specific Scoutmaster Specific provides an understanding of how a Boy Scout troop is organized and run. It will be offered at the Pine Run Retirement Community in Doylestown on February 28.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills teaches the skills needed for the boys to advance to First Class. It will be offered April 10-11 at Camp Ockanickon.

National Youth Leadership Training

Washington Crossing Council is offering NYLT at Camp Ockanickon over two weekends (March 20-22 and April 17-19).

This is the premier youth leadership training course offered by BSA. This is excellent general leadership training, especially for any scout considering running for SPL.

Participant fee for the two-weekend course is $250. Please contact Mr. Janzen if you are considering registering.

Troop Fundraising

Troop 10's fundraiser is selling gift cards for Giant, Shoprite, and McCaffreys. Cards are sold at face value, but Troop 10 earns 5% of each card sold.

Cards are available for sale at all Troop Meetings. Contact Judith Berger at judithathome@aol.com or (267) 980-8242.

Each family must purchase at least $1,000 of cards per scout during the Sept-Aug school year (the more the better). Any scout not purchasing the minimum will be assessed an extra $50 in dues (prorated based on amount purchased). Minimum does not apply to scouts who join the troop in the winter/spring.

We meet at the church for all camping trips on Friday at 5:30pm unless otherwise noted. Scouts should bring dinner or money for a fast food stop. Boys are dropped off at their homes on Sunday morning.

Troop Calendar

Troop Meetings are every Thursday from 7:30-9:00pm at Yardley United Methodist Church, 300 Langhorne-Yardley Road.

Troop committee meetings are the first Wednesday of each month, 7:30-8:30pm.

Patrol Leader's Council (PLC) meetings preceed the Troop Meeting on the first and third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm.
