Spring Court of Honor

Court of Honor - June 2014

On Thursday, June 19, 2014, Troop 10 had court of honor where scouts received merit badges they had earned, some scouts received advancement in rank, and some Eagle Scouts received palms in recognition for their continued achievements with the troop.

Two other significant events occurred at the Court of Honor:

• Troop 10's own Max Gordon earned and received the Dr. Manny Mark's Distinguished Scout Award from the Troop 10 chartering committee, the Lower Makefield Friends for Scouting, for outstanding character and extraordianry contributions as a scout leader and member of the community. The award is a great honor and included a $250 scholarship for higher education expenses.

• Also, Mr. Schaub, the chairman of the troop chartering committee, the Lower Makefield Friends for Scouting, announced that Troop 10 Scoutmaster position will soon transition from Mr. Gordon to Mr. Janzen effective September 1, 2014. Mr. Gordon has faithfully served as Troop 10 leader for over four years and led the troop during a period of growth in both troop membership and Eagles. Mr. Janzen and his son, Schuyler, have been actively involved with Troop 10 for more than three years. Mr. Janzen was a scout himself, having reached the rank of Eagle, and served as Senior Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 10 for the past two years. Before joining Troop 10, Mr. Janzen served as a volunteer with the BSA Bucks County Council. He led the effort to re-juvenate the Trail to First Class program at Troop 10 and led multiple merit badge courses. Mr. Gordon isn't going anywhere and we look forward to his ongoing active participation in Troop 10.

A special congratulations to Max Gordon, Mr. Gordon and Mr. Janzen!
