Wilderness Survival at Ockanickon, NY

The photos were of the Boy Scout Troop 10 wilderness survival weekend at Camp Ockanickon, from March 14-16, 2014. 30 campers attended this camping event. When the scouts first arrived at camp, we unloaded our stuff into the Adirondack shacks, started a camp fire, hung out, and then made our way to bed. The following day, the scouts working on their wilderness survival merit badge began their experience by making their own forts out of sticks, leafs, etc. The other scouts went hiking. Most of the snow melted during the day Saturday and washed out two of the shelters, so the scouts made due with the remaining shelters and everyone was able to spend the night in their shelters and completed the badge requirements. A great experience!
